SPEAK UP FOR YOUR PUBLIC LIBRARIES!
In December 2018, the Saskatchewan Government completed the first part of a consultation process about our province’s public libraries that was instigated by the government’s 58% cut (later rescinded) to library funding in the 2017 Provincial Budget.
Library organizations and stakeholders were interviewed by a government-led panel, and a report was written for Education Minister Gordon Wyant.
The government has also released an online public survey to begin a process of gathering public feedback as part of the consultation process. The survey will be conducted from January 10 to January 25, 2019.
Wapiti Regional Library strongly encourages all of our library users, all members of the communities that make up our region, and all of our stakeholders to respond to the government’s survey. This is your chance to make your voices heard about the value of our province’s public libraries.
We appreciate and thank you for participation in the government’s consultation process, and for all the support you have shown for Wapiti Regional Library and Saskatchewan’s Public Libraries in general.
